If you sell print-on-demand through Printify, you have mockups but no product to film. Printify's own article on adding video to Etsy suggests ordering a sample and filming it. That works, but every product then costs a sample order and an afternoon. With dozens of designs, that doesn't add up.
There is a quicker way: make the video from the mockups you already have.
What Printify and Printful give you
- Printify makes still mockups. Its AI mockups come with Printify Premium, with 10 generations a day. In September 2026 we couldn't find video mockups anywhere in Printify's help centre.
- Printful has free production footage for some products, and adds a product video "if available" when it publishes to Etsy. For custom mockup videos, Printful's own help centre points you to Placeit.
So for most Printify products, the video is up to you.
Step 1: download your mockups from Printify
Download three to five mockups of the product. Ideally that's one wide shot that shows what the product is, plus two or three closer ones. Room and lifestyle mockups work especially well, because a slow move across a room looks like real footage.
Step 2: turn them into a video
Open Mockup to Video and add the images. For each one, draw a green box where the camera starts and a red box where it ends. A slow push-in towards the product is the move that works most often. The tool also:
- keeps the total length inside Etsy's limits
- warns you if a zoom goes further than your mockup stays sharp
- makes the MP4 in your browser, so your designs are never uploaded
The step-by-step guide has a one-minute recording of the whole process.
Step 3: add the video on Etsy
Publish the product from Printify as usual. Then go to Shop Manager on Etsy, open the listing, go to Photo and video, and upload the MP4. Etsy allows two videos per listing.
If you later edit and re-publish the product from Printify, open the Etsy listing afterwards and check the video is still there.
The Etsy rules the video has to meet
- 5 to 15 seconds. Etsy's help pages disagree about the minimum (one says 3 seconds, one says 5), so aim for 5 to 15.
- No sound. Etsy removes the audio.
- At least 500px, ideally 1080px, and under 100 MB.
- Aspect ratio between 2:1 and 1:2. Square (1080 x 1080) is the safe choice.

Is it worth doing for every product?
Start with your best sellers, then listings that get views but few sales. That's where a video has the most to change. Make each video from that product's own mockups. A video of a different product is worse than no video.
